Travel Diary Inspired by Travel: Isa Tapia Explores Barcelona
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, designer Isa Tapia is a lot like the shoes she creates: dazzling and exotic but extremely grounded. Pairing vibrant patterns and colors with well-crafted design, her footwear is perfect for the party girl on the go. And no better place to dance the night away than Barcelona, a natural choice for Isa’s W Inspiration Trip. With The Coveteur by her side, the designer explored the sights, tastes, and fashions of the city that influenced her collections to come.
SEE
When designing each collection, Isa is all about expressing a shoe’s architecture through the intricate details. Turns out, her heels and Barcelona’s structures have a lot more in common than just a pretty exterior.

EAT
Traversing the streets of Barcelona, you’re never too far from your next delicious snack. The famous Boqueria market is the perfect place to find food for thought, like thinly sliced meats, bite-sized tortilla espanola, and too many sweet treats to count.

RELAX
Exploring all day, dancing all night, and eating any time in between–the life of a traveler can be exhausting. A quiet museum or a warm beach was a great place for Isa to relax and recharge for another day of exploration.

CREATE
Though Isa’s Inspiration Trip was packed full of activities and adventures, the dedicated designer always found time to sketch her ideas for new shoes and patterns. In her room at the W Barcelona or by the beach, Isa dreamed up her newest collection with gorgeous Barcelona as a backdrop.
