Sounding Off With Classixx

podcasts Sounding Off With Classixx

Michael David and Tyler Blake of the indie electro DJ duo Classixx have been friends and musical collaborators since middle school, surfing the wave of local Los Angeles garage-band culture all the way to their recent success in the indie electronic scene.

The duo is all about collaborations and taking risks, like being the inaugural interview on the Sounding Off podcast and the first to test out the Sound Suite recording studio now open at W Bali.

The Classixx guys were the perfect guests for the first of many W Sounding Off podcasts, giving listeners an intimate look into the process behind some of their favorite songs and serving up some insider gossip, too.

For the debut podcast we go deep into Classixx’s origins, ambitions and the collaborations that made their new album, Faraway Reach, a huge success in the indie electronic scene. All about the collaborations, the duo isn’t afraid to reach out to talents as diverse as How To Dress Well’s Tom Krell, South African chanteuse Nonku and the one and only T-Pain. Listen to Classixx’s thoughts on the Los Angeles’ musical scene – from the unfortunate rise of bottle-service venues to singing the praises of WeHo’s booming DIY warehouse party scene, and delve into the band’s new sounds, right here on The Angle.

Want to see the guys in the flesh? Check out our live video recording of the first episode right here.

Stay tuned for future episodes of the Sounding Off series, featuring conversations with Frankie Knuckles mentee Silky and Australian producer Hayden James.
