Welcome to the future of music, art, and culture where young new talent is celebrated with an immersive tour of parties, talks, performances, and collaborations held at W hotels in Europe and the Middle East. From Amsterdam to Doha to London and beyond, Future Rising is not only a music series to check out the best new talent, but also a creative platform to engage and champion future creative leaders across the globe. Along with our partner Mixcloud, we’re throwing seven parties, with seven talks, in seven cities – bringing the best emerging talent right to you, live in person.

W DOHA

Turn it up in the luxurious mecca of W Doha as we welcome Amsterdam’s Jarreau Vandal and UK’s Hannah Faith. Come hear them in deep discussion about the next phase of music at the W Suite Session, November 3rd at 8pm, and dance all night to all the DJs at a fresh party from 10pm – 2am.
Jarreau Vandal
A 23 year old Amsterdam native, Vandal is all about mixing the contemporary with the classics, bringing together the unexpected. Think jazz and old school rap with futuristic beats and Rihanna riffs – it’s a new way to listen.

Hannah Faith
A muse in every sense, this London-based DJ is an emerging must-know name across music and fashion scenes alike. From being featured on Solange Knowles’ “Saint Heron” to modeling in iD Magazine to opening for acts such as Willow and Jaden Smith, this 22 year old brings an atmospheric twist to soul forward beats.

Absorb the infectious energy of Turkey’s glittering capital city with an unforgettable meeting of rising stars at W Istanbul, bringing together Sweden’s Baba Stiltz alongside local emerging talent Kerem Akdag and Ece Özel, co-hosted with Brant Mag. At 8pm, join in on an in-depth conversation between some of Turkey and Istanbul’s leading artists, discussing the local and global scenes that inspire what they do, and stay till 10 for the impressive lineup of DJs.
Baba Stiltz
A young DJ with an eclectic heart, Stiltz has studied ballet, been in folk bands, and produced with some big names like Justin Bieber. Now he’s pushing the electronic music world to new, interesting places with his woozy style that flirts with house and ambient music, and the occasional collaboration with singer Yung Lean.

Ece Özel
This Istanbul-based DJ is bursting with as much culture as her city, having studied painting and fashion she brings an unparalleled sense of style into her mixes. Mashing cosmic/synth disco, slo-mo, disco edits, new wave, house and techno, she’s all about giving a new look at the music scene.

Kerem Akdag
A drummer and DJ, Akdag knows how to keep a beat. Modifying jazz over a fascinating range of tempos and patterns, he craftily outlines his influences of funk, soul, and hip hop in each high energy mix.

Kim Ann Foxmann
New York based DJ, Foxmann is constantly traveling the club circuit across the globe to share her unique and addicting beats with the world. The former Hercules Love Affair vocalist combines classics with ambient house sounds, and it’s easy to get lost in the crowd when hearing this killer DJ spin live.

Making his debut into the world in 2010 under the anonymous moniker of Krystal Klear, Dublin native Dec Lennon has made a steady rise to become one of the freshest new faces in music that both has the chops to destroy underground dance floors with his deep crate of records and can spin out polished productions in the studio with legends like Nile Rodgers.

Marc Piñol
Music journalist since 1994 and a DJ since 97, Marc Piñol is schooled in the art of working a crowd, playing records at Nitsa Club in Barcelona from 1999 until 2013. He has been elected best DJ of the year several times and spins a range of types of music from trance to disco pop so no one is ever bored.

Roots United is a collective of like-minded musicians, DJs, promoters, visual artists and simply friends, based in St. Petersburg, Russia.
For the last 7 years, they’ve organized more than 60 music events in St. Petersburg and all over the country including noteraries like Marcel Dettmann, Move D, Nina Kraviz, DJ Sotofett, Aux 88, DJ Stingray, Plaid, Moritz von Oswald, MCDE and many others. For the Future Rising launch party Roots United will be represented by the key residents of the community: Hoopa, Shutta, and El, whose sets are available in the recent Boiler Room broadcasting series.

This young DJ isn’t afraid to take new risks in his mixes, mashing up cassette pop, house, soul, r&b and funk, his sounds are effortless but emotive. He’s worked on labels like Sonar Kolkektiv, ManMakeMusic (George Fitzgerald’s label), Futureboogie and Bastard Jazz and is always pushing ahead.
