When it comes to doing business in style, two modern fashion icons have taken styling to new heights, and continue to push the boundaries of women in business. Rachel Zoe, the celebrity fashion stylist turned reality TV personality, and Jenna Lyons, the executive creative director of J. Crew who has carried the company for over 20 years – both women have created a brand that is unique to their individual style and made their taste in fashion a commodity for the masses. But despite the spotlight, both have also managed to remain relatable and humble throughout their full careers.
These dynamic personalities were a perfect match for another episode of What She Said podcast series held at W New York – Times Square. At the event, Lyons and Zoe came dressed in clothing inspired by one another but still holding true to their signature styles – Lyons donning a tulle skirt with her classic jean jacket, and Zoe wearing a pant suit that surprised with its wide leg cut and black leather tailoring. The two hard working women talked individual styles, the new age of fashion without rules, and sharing stories about both the mistakes and successes they’ve had in their careers.
The discussion was moderated by Sarah Easley, a stylist and the new curator of W’s Style Lab gift shop featuring emerging designers, which Lyons and Zoe toured after the talk. See some exclusive pictures and listen to the entire conversations from the night of fashion, fun and first meetings.
