Travel Diary Inspired By Travel: Katie Ermilio in Barcelona
As the granddaughter of Grace Kelly’s personal clothier, CFDA {Fashion Incubator} recipient Katie Ermilio brings a distinct sense of history to her designs. Recognized for infusing feminine pieces with sharp tailoring and soft draping, Katie’s style embodies the modern interpretation of old world luxury. With such a strong bloodline, the historical city of Barcelona was a clear choice for her W Inspiration Trip. Alongside The Coveteur, the designer reveled in all elements around W Barcelona, from the city’s bustling market culture to the deep roots of its design legacy.
SEE
From Gaudi’s swirling towers and intricate mosaic churches to the graffitied back alleyways of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, Spain’s aesthetically rich culture thrives from the beaches to the mountains. Throughout her week in the city, Katie found inspiration in the art, architecture, and history of every corner.

TOUCH
While walking through La Boqueria market or exploring the twists and turns of La Sagrada Familia, it’s hard not to want to touch every surface, textile, and texture. Luckily, it’s usually encouraged.

TASTE
In Spain, sharing is expected. Why get one dish when you can get ten small ones? Nothing like a feast of tapas, cured meats, and fried doughs to give you that burst of what you’ve been craving.

CHILL
Whether it’s a glass of cava at the W rooftop, a rest by the beachside WET Deck, an indulgence at the Bliss Spa, or the feeling of rays bouncing off the mirrored tower, W Barcelona is a perfect place to recharge and relax before and after those long days of taking in the sights.
