Discover Kuala Lumpur’s Art and Design Culture with Tsyahmi

Travel Diary Discover Kuala Lumpur’s Art and Design Culture with Tsyahmi

Design-forward fashion designer Tengku Syahmi is constantly inspired by his city of Kuala Lumpur. His bold collections take pieces of his culture with designs inspired by the city’s dreamlike architecture, or his choices of color and fabric, influenced by the vibrancy of traditional Malaysian textiles. The pride he has for his country’s love of design shines through his stunning work and there is no better way to feel that inspiration than by wandering through Kuala Lumpur’s vast variety of design shops.

We took a ride with the designer to explore the city’s best places to spot art and interior design, starting at the wonderland of W Kuala Lumpur where he shows off his own designs on model Alicia Amin, along with other like-minded designers like A-Jane and Jonathan Liang.
