From bathing suits inspired by the sea to espadrilles made for parties on the beach, these five designers transformed the creative energy of a destination into a wonderfully wearable garment that’s too hot to hold back.
W BARCELONA x WILLIAM TEMPEST
Look hot to get wet. W Barcelona and the young, emerging British fashion designer William Tempest created a limited-edition men’s and women’s swimwear collection that’s burning up. Taking its cue from the vibrant Mediterranean vibe and cool seaside culture, the swimwear is a striking blue and white geometric print accentuated with gold trimmings and nautical-inspired ribbons. Perfect for that yacht getaway (of our dreams).
W Retreat & SPA – VIEQUES Island x MISHA NONOO
Whether it’s go-to loungewear by the pool, an all-day robe for a lazy Sunday, or a fashionable cover-up for a summer night’s party, Misha Nonoo and W Retreat & Spa – Vieques Island made a lightweight kaftan on-trend for any occasion. Crafted by the CFDA {Fashion Incubator} recipient, Nonoo used vibrant orange silk inspired by Vieques, Puerto Rico and created a garment that transitions from day to night, pool to party, and season to season.
W PARIS – OPéRA x THIERRY LASRY
Throw some serious summer shade with the exclusive sunglass collaboration between Parisian designer Thierry Lasry. Inspired by the design elements of the hotel, the men and women’s sunglasses featured sparks of gold as seen in the lobby and architectural cues from the Haussmann style facade of the building.
W BOGOTA x ESTEBAN CORTÁZAR
There’s nothing more satisfying than slipping into a warm robe after a long day at the beach, but doing it in pure luxury with Esteban Cortázar’s collaboration with W Bogota is almost too much of a good thing. Deep green like the lush of the Colombian forest with an accented gold buckle, the gilded history of the country comes alive in this luxurious play on loungewear.
